This is a picture of our "little cabin in the woods," which is not in the woods at all, but in Seaside, Oregon. It didn't look anything like this twelve years ago when we bought it. If it had we wouldn't have been able to afford it. It was a true "fixer-upper." But we joined the crowds of several hundred clammers out on the beach. It was not a good day for clamming. The little bivalves were keeping a low profile today. I got a clam in the first hole I dug.
