Mother's Day Wishes for Bio Moms

Posted by Karen Hessen on Friday, May 6, 2011 Under: Adoption

Isn't this flowering cherry tree in our yard beautiful? The tree is over 50 years old and never disappoints us with its beauty.

It is nearly Mother's Day. This is the time of year when I think the most about the biological mothers of my children. Tina's mother passed away a few years ago from breast cancer. Tina had spoken to her on the phone and has met some of her bio mom's siblings. Kurtis' mom still lives in Oklahoma to the best of my knowledge.

I can not help but wonder what goes through the minds of bio moms everywhere. For me, Mother's Day is a time of gratitude and thanksgiving. I so appreciate the sacrifice that two women whom I have never met made. I will never take for granted the gift of motherhood that I have been given at their expense.

I pray for you and call down God's blessing upon you. May you find peace especially during this holiday which must be especially difficult for you.
