I received official word this week that the story I submitted to Chicken Soup for the Soul about my son Kurtis' years of hunger has been selected for their upcoming book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Food and Love. This story tells of how Kurtis had a ravenous appetite when we adopted him because he had frequently gone without food in his young life. I titled the story, "The Way to a Boy's Stomach is Through His Heart." In the wisdom of the folks at Chicken Soup, the story has been retitiled, "...
