Hungry Children

I was writing an article the other day about food and I was reminded of how Kurtis ate when we first adopted him. 

Kurtis had been hungry and was never sure if he would have another meal or when he would have it, so he ate. And he ate!
And he ate! It didn't matter what I cooked he ate it with enthusiasm. It was pretty sad to see him drag along the table with his withered leg and pick crumbs up, popping them in his mouth like delicacies. 

This ravenous appetite lasted for a several months before...
